Trudy Turner

Trudy has had a lengthy career in non-profit and community development where she became a passionate advocate for multiculturalism, ensuring that the voices of the under-represented were heard. Throughout these years she advocated for the inclusion of multicultural candidates in the provincial elections; sat on the Board of the Congress of Black Women for a number of years helping to organize the Annual Gala; served as the Multicultural Liaison for the PC Party of Manitoba; developed a mural program in the West End of Winnipeg celebrating the diversity of the neighbourhood; created several annual events honouring the City’s diversity including the Soca Reggae Festival and the Sargent Street Festival.
